On April 8th, at the 2023 rare earth industry project signing ceremony of Baotou Rare Earth High tech Zone, 22 rare earth industry projects with a total investment of 5.15 billion yuan were signed.
It is reported that this centralized signing project involves fields such as rare earth functional materials, permanent magnet motors, and technological innovation platforms, including the construction project of high-performance neodymium iron boron rapid solidification alloy with an annual output of 50000 tons by Inner Mongolia Northern Rare Earth Magnetic Materials Co., Ltd., and the project of high-performance neodymium iron boron magnetic material with an annual output of 2000 tons and high-precision deep processing by Ningbo Xinlin Magnetic Industry Co., Ltd.
At present, with the goal of building the "World Rare Earth Capital", Baotou is making every effort to develop the entire industry chain of rare earth permanent magnets, hydrogen storage, polishing, catalytic and auxiliary materials, rare earth alloys, and "rare earth+" consumer goods, building a comprehensive industrial ecosystem of rare earth technology research and development, achievement transformation, testing and certification, standard formulation, and rare earth trading, and vigorously promoting Baotou's rare earth from a "world-class reserve" to a "world-class industry". At present, seven of the top ten domestic magnetic material enterprises have settled in Baotou, and the on-site conversion rate of rare earth raw materials exceeded 80% within the year, with a production value exceeding 80 billion yuan. We strive to form an industrial scale of 100 billion yuan by the end of the 14th Five Year Plan.
